GAME ONE BOX SCORE

GAME TWO BOX SCORE

WEST CHESTER--Bloomsburg University rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh and posted a 5-2 win over West Chester in game two to salvage a split of its doubleheader on Saturday. The Golden Rams took the opening game by a 14-5 score.

In game two, the Huskies jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the third inning. With two out, Vinnie James (Bristol/Bristol) and Kevin Ward (Upper Darby/Monsignor Bonner) got back-to-back singles to put runners at first and a second. After Andy Bucher (Littlestown/Littlestown) reached on an error to load the bases, Paul Eckley (Port Matilda/State College) lined a single to right scoring both James and Ward.

West Chester, 18-7, 5-3 in the PSAC East, tied the score by getting two runs in the bottom of the sixth before the Huskies staged their game winning rally. Kevin Ward singled to open the inning with a single with Bucher reaching via a fielder's choice. Eckley singled sending Bucher to second before Matt Allen (DuBoistown/South Williamsport) doubled scoring Bucher with the go-ahead run. Later Eckley and Rich Letts (Parkesburg/Octorara), who walked following Allen's double, both scored on errors to give Bloomsburg a 5-2 lead. Eckley finished the game 3-4 with two runs batted in.

In the opener, the Golden Rams scored six runs in the first and two more in the second to jump out to an 8-0 lead. Bloomsburg got back to within 8-4 after scoring once in the third and three more in the fourth, but that was as close as it would get. James and Matt Robinson (York/Red Lion) had RBI singles in the game, while Preston Hitchcock (Laceyville/Wyalusing) had an RBI on a ground out. Michael Griggs (Jersey Shore/Jersey Shore) got the win in relief of David Rute (Milton/Milton).
